About Windsor Point

1995

Over 60 years ago, Riley and Margaret Evans, a farmer and schoolteacher, built a small assisted living facility and several small houses in Bladen County, NC to meet the needs of aging neighbors.

Riley and Margaret had five children who attended NC universities and settled in NC with their families. Their children have worked hard to continue their parents’ dream and have developed numerous communities that provide exceptional health care and housing for seniors today.

After extensive research, Fuquay-Varina, a small town conveniently located close to all the resources of Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill, was selected as home for Windsor Point. In 1995, 17 acres on Highway 55 and Wilbon Road were purchased for development. In less than a year, land, plans, financing, start-up certificate from the Department of Insurance, and the first residents were all in place.

Since then, Windsor Point has welcomed many new faces and continues to add to its family.

Today

Windsor Point has 181 cottages and apartments available for residents. These homes feature attractive brick and stucco architecture, as well as beautifully landscaped lawns, pathways and patios or balconies.

In addition to our cottages and apartments, Windsor Point has a Community Center, Health Care Center and Wellness Center.

Conveniently located for everyone, the 22,000 square foot Thompson Community Center is the hub of activities for our residents. Here residents have access to elegant dining rooms, a community store, pharmacy services, library, business center, coffee lounge, billiards room, hair salon, and a multi-purpose auditorium.

Adjacent to our Community Center, the Medicare approved Kelly Health Care offers residents all levels of care as well as therapy if ever needed. Kelly Health Care has 100 private and semi-private beds.

The Johnson Wellness Center is also easily accessible to everyone. It has a heated indoor pool, spa, and exercise rooms overlooking a terrace and a natural wooded area.
